A committee-run charity preschool is a community-focused setting where the preschool is overseen by a volunteer committee, often made up of parents and other members of the local community. The committee helps with the overall management, finances, fundraising and development of the preschool, working closely with the dedicated early years team to ensure children receive high-quality care, learning and support. Being part of the Early Years Alliance provides additional guidance, resources, training and professional support, helping the preschool maintain strong standards and continually develop its practice.

Our committee consists of a Chairperson, Treasurer/Finance Officer, Secretary and Fundraising Team, each playing an important role in supporting the preschool. Together, they help oversee the financial management, organisation, fundraising and future development of Applecroft Preschool, ensuring we continue to provide a welcoming, nurturing and high-quality environment for our children and families.

Our dedicated committee organise a variety of fun and exciting fundraising events throughout the year, including our Christmas Experience, Easter Bunny visits, local quizzes and new and up and coming bingo evenings. These events bring our preschool community together while raising valuable additional funds to support Applecroft and, most importantly, the children. The money raised helps us provide additional resources, equipment, experiences and opportunities that enhance the children’s learning and make their time at preschool even more special.

Our dedicated committee brings together a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion for supporting Applecroft Preschool. Rachel, our Chairperson, has extensive experience in education and a real passion for Early Years, helping to guide the preschool with enthusiasm and commitment. Emma, our Treasurer/Finance Officer, supports and oversees the financial aspects of the charity, helping to ensure our funds are managed responsibly and effectively. Sammy Jo, our Secretary, is also a parent within our preschool community and brings a valuable educational background to her role. Together, our committee works closely with the preschool team to support the continued development and success of Applecroft Preschool, always keeping the needs and experiences of our children at the heart of what we do.

We are also incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated Fundraising Committee, made up of Debbie and Aleesah, who work to organise fundraising activities and hold events within our local community. Their commitment and enthusiasm help us raise valuable additional funds, allowing us to purchase new resources, equipment and learning opportunities for our children. Each of our volunteers brings their own passion and dedication to Applecroft Preschool, helping to make a positive difference to the children and the preschool community.
