We support children to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships with others. Through play and everyday experiences, children learn to express their feelings, build friendships, take turns, share and develop an understanding of themselves and others. We encourage children to become confident, happy and resilient learners.
Prime Areas
Communication and Language Development
We help children develop their speaking, listening and communication skills through play, stories, songs and everyday conversations. Children are encouraged to share their ideas, listen to others and build their vocabulary.
Physical Development - Fine Motor
We help children develop their fine motor skills through fun activities such as drawing, painting, cutting, threading and building. These activities help children develop hand strength, coordination and control.
Physical Devopment - Gross Motor
We help children develop their gross motor skills through active play, running, jumping, climbing and balancing. These activities help children build strength, coordination, confidence and physical control.
Literacy
Early years literacy teaching helps children develop a love of books, stories and communication. Through reading, singing, rhymes, conversations and mark-making activities, children develop their vocabulary, listening skills and understanding of language.
Specific Areas
Maths
Early years maths teaching helps children develop a strong foundation in mathematical thinking through playful, practical and meaningful experiences. Children learn important concepts such as counting, number recognition, shape, patterns, measurement and problem-solving through activities, stories, songs and everyday routines.
Expressive Arts and Design
Expressive Arts and Design encourages children to explore their creativity and imagination through music, singing, dancing, role play, art and making. Through fun, hands-on experiences, children can express their ideas and emotions, develop new skills and build confidence in their own creativity.
Understanding the World
Understanding the World helps children make sense of the world around them. Through play and exploration, children learn about people, families, communities, nature and different cultures, while developing curiosity and an understanding of the world they live in.
